What to Pack for Camping in Patagonia:
• A 4-season tent – wind and rain are frequent
• Warm sleeping bag (rated to at least -5°C / 23°F)
• Windproof camp stove and gas
• Waterproof layers + extra dry socks
• Headlamp + spare batteries
• Quick-dry towel, biodegradable soap, toilet paper
• Food bags (odor-proof) and lightweight cooking set
Camping Etiquette & Safety Tips
• 🚯 Leave No Trace – Pack out all trash, including food scraps.
• 🔥 Use fire only where permitted – and never leave it unattended.
• 🦊 Don’t feed wildlife – Especially foxes, birds or pumas. Keep food sealed and away from your tent.
• 🚱 Filter water – Streams are usually safe, but livestock or wildlife may contaminate them upstream.
• 🧼 Wash 60+ meters away from water sources.
